Wise, smart, lucky

So many times we celebrate people who have platforms based on luck alone. The luck of birth. The luck of privilege. The luck of access. The luck of being in the right place at the right time.

I used to think being smart was such an asset. I have learned that smart is contextual. I can be super smart in several areas and exceedingly silly in others.

Wisdom wears scars. The more scars, potentially the more wisdom. However if we do not assimilate scars then wisdom cannot grow roots, instead the scars fester into reflexive behaviour that limits options.

Investing in our own learning, development and integration at all levels — emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, ethical, moral — is the path to wisdom becoming smart. When we do this, when we are a clearing unburdened with history of remorse, regret, and revenge, we become an attractor for luck.
