When our internal power is aligned we become a transmission
When power is given to people who have not developed the maturity to know its contours, its blunt edges, its ability to grow monstrous, to be cruel, to fracture…it becomes another means for humans to be ‘superior to.’
Roles such as any form of policing, gatekeeping, authority positions, require a continuous conversation with power….what is it, how do we deploy it, how do we know when our better nature has succumbed to is greedy force.
Often people who have been marginalised in many other areas of their lives find themselves in positions where they get to hold the sword of power. The delicious taste of it becomes addictive. And ultimately vindictive.
Those who are fuelled by this false form of power….the one that requires an external weapon — be that the role given, the uniform, the pen…require compassion. They might appear as strong. They might suffer the illusion that they are all mighty.
True power, that which comes from the pit of our belly, that brings the whole force of our being into the present, requires no external weapon. A look. A word. A gesture.
When our internal power is aligned, we become a transmission.
