What will you compost today?
In some parts of the world today is Good Friday. In all parts of the world it is the day before a full moon.
In Australia is it the second biggest holiday apart from Christmas Day.
What this means in 2022 is that many commercial venues are closed. Supermarkets, pubs, public institutions like libraries. The significance of a holiday is now determined by how commercial the day is.
There comes a time when the holiday itself becomes more significant than the original idea behind the holiday.
The Pattern Integrity of Good Friday is the crucifixion of Jesus.
In honour of the Pattern Integrity of this day we might consider what we need to compost that we have held as holy or sacred?
What in us needs to die in order for that which is more authentic in us to be born?
This question can be asked at the individual, systems and collective levels.
My partner asked the global question this morning, “Why are we looking to prove war crimes in Ukraine? Isn’t the war itself a crime?”
When we sanctify and make holy all life war is indeed a crime.
When we create monocultures of power — where our energy needs — our currency — our media — the political class — have supremacy, we debase novelty, diversity and resilience.
What do we need to compost to create a more sacred holy world?
