What we tolerate and what we accept

To tolerate is to bear. To agree to the burden.
To accept is to take or receive willingly.
We tolerate with gritted teeth. We accept with an open heart.
We can transmute tolerations into acceptance if we desire.
To continue to tolerate is an affirmation to self that we do not matter, our voice is unworthy, or silence is the safe path. Our lives proceed with gritted teeth and a seething experience that often amplifies.
To speak up about a toleration, including a toleration of self, is to begin the process of agency. We can do this with love for self and others.
Acceptance is a place of peace. In our acceptance, we create a field of grace.
What we tolerate and what we accept tells a story of who we are.
