There is no point in having power unless you use it to help those who do not have power

Let’s start at the very beginning, with the recognition that all creatures, including humans, are born with intrinsic value.

They do not need to earn the right to be valued. To be loved. To be seen.

In a civilised society life is held as sacrosanct. All life.

Structural inequality is a wilful act taken by those who appear to have power. They profit from their shortsighted views, from the genuine lack of asking seemingly-impossible-to-answer questions about how to create a future that increases the wellbeing of Earth and all her creatures.

Time and again history has demonstrated that abuse of power, to win at the loss of many others, at the loss of a possible future, creates an exacerbated polarity that must either collapse or explode to reset.

We are watching that reset take place currently.

Structurally given power, be that of the leader in politics, or industry, is not to enrich the few at the cost of the many, for that path has a certain outcome as evidenced geopolitically and historically.

Structurally given power in a healthy civilisation, a healthy society, is to support the voiceless, the oppressed, the marginalised…including creatures, our precious home planet and our collective future, with the intention to end the need to be a voice for the powerless.

Power that speaks only to their own selfish ends, their own agenda at the cost of others, is hollow and temporal.

As individuals we always have the right to choose the type of power we support in others. Our choice has consequence, for we are effectively subjugating our authority to the other.

Our choices are not to be taken lightly.

We get the power play we endorse.
