The political system is broken

Is there any redemption for Western politics, I wonder?

I think not. To call our current political system a circus is too kind.

Lies are more prevalent than truth.

The game is to win and keep winning — forget about those they serve.

Hypocrisy is so thick the public has drowned in it. Numbed out.

Adult children gather together in some sanctioned ‘house’ and get away with behaviour that would not be tolerated in a children’s playground.

They are paid ridiculous salaries to posture and puff, a career spent sharpening their acting abilities. Look directly at the camera and lie, please.

Stoked by a sick media who egg and push for the grab headlines.

They treat the citizens they have been elected to support like fools.

If there is a good thing about this charade, it is the public can see it for its idiocracy.

Our choice. Roll over and let the political class do their thing, withdrawing our attention. Get caught in the drama and throw things at the television when it becomes too much. Try to engage as a citizen. Believe it??

Like most of the human-constructed systems we have, the political system is broken and unfixable as it is.

We can do so much better. What would we create to make it obsolete?
