The danger of pedestals

Put a person on a pedestal and there is only one way off the pedestal. Gravity and time do their work.

Allow someone to put you on a pedestal and the moment will come where you will be seen to be as human as you always were.

To accept the accolade is to also accept the failure.

That moment in the spotlight, on the pedestal, basking in the glory, can become addictive.

The fall is always around the corner. Often the higher the pedestal the larger the fall.

Better to refuse any position on any pedestal. Better to never place another on a pedestal.

We can honour and recognise great achievement and contribution. But the very moment we place another or ourselves in a place of superiority we have made a statement about our own worth and value.
