That first Little Atrocity is the most dangerous

In Australia, every news report commences with the US election. I have US election fatigue, and I am confident I am not alone.

There is a scale of ethics and morality in politics. To be in integrity is a practice. The Pattern Integrity of politics includes power accumulation, which seeds corruption.

To be an elected representative of your community also means you must appeal to the norm, the average. If the average supports genocide, what do you do? Stand for genocide as the chosen representative of your elective? Or speak against genocide, knowing your time as a representative will end. I watch this play, aghast, as in Australia, some of our mostly wonderful independent politicians stand for genocide by refusing to speak against the might of the Israeli Zionist lobby.

When politicians can be purchased by powerful lobbies, then the voices of the politicians become corrupted. This is not surprising.

When we even consider that someone can rise to the highest office when they are a convicted criminal, a liar and a rapist, it speaks to the integrity of our being. Our desire for what they offer seduces us to prostitute our integrity and soul.

We are lost as a Western culture. I do not see anything but complete disintegration.

The casualties, as always, will be the most vulnerable.

Integrity is to be lived, a choice we make in every action, every day. That first Little Atrocity is the most dangerous.
