Pomp and ceremony
This morning walking on the beach, a couple are having professional photographs of themselves to capture their pregnancy.
It is a thing to do. Like baby showers, and gender reveals. My head spins with all the ceremonies we have created to bookmark life. True, these endless ceremonies do feed the hospitality industry.
Overnight, while I was sleeping, a man was crowned King, apparently, the head of my country to whom I am supposed to swear allegiance.
The pomp and ceremony off the charts. A relic institution clinging desperately to the last vestiges of relevance. The history of most monarchies is drenched in blood and human suffering. Clearly, the attempt at distracting those who toil to keep the machine alive is beginning to fail. Yet it is history repeating. French Revolution, anyone?
All the while, our atmosphere is in full collapse under the weight of human arrogance and greed. The human arms race is speeding up. The wealth divide is reaching obscene proportions.
The contrast is ridiculous. And shameful. Is this our best, humanity?
I wonder, in a Syntropic World, how we might do ceremony? For indeed, celebrating significant life moments is worthwhile.
In a Syntropic World we would go to the Source. What are we celebrating? What is the Pattern Integrity of what we are celebrating and honouring? How do we express that in a way that honours and exemplifies the Pattern Integrity?
For example, if we are celebrating a partnership, how did it come into existence? What are its integral features and values that make it unique? How would we capture that in ceremony that demonstrates to everyone the essence of the partnership?
