Political theatre to pave the way for more atrocities

The bully threatens. Bloviates. Speaks of history and eternity.

Promises peace.

Standing beside a man who cares naught for an entire population or, indeed, for peace.

On this issue, where corrupt self-serving politicians take up the airwaves with political theatre, I am cynical.

This is the stage setting for more horror. For if there is no agreement by the other party, who were not invited to participate in the deal, and if the finer details of the deal take months, which they will, all the while as multi-party violations happen to any framework, there is now a publicly stated agreement that the bully-in-chief will allow their partner in crime to do what ever they need to do. Total destruction. Tick. Total annihilation of people. Tick. More genocide. Tick.

Not peace. But access to the best real estate in the Middle East. An end goal for so many, the glint of gold in their eyes hard to disguise. Leaders from times past lost in the contagion of unrequited greed.

The only thing that has me hesitating is the bully-in-chief’s longing for a Nobel Peace Prize. Will his ambition for that trump his ambition for the Riviera of the Middle East?

All the while that this theatre goes on, people are dying. The genocide continues.

More and more people in the world are awakening to Western-sanctioned horror. And in so doing, needing to confront our historical roots, steeped in the blood of so many people. Colonisation and Western Civilisation are inseparable, which means we must question our meaning of civilisation.

This is the unescapable precessional effect of a live-streamed on social media genocide. Hard to ignore. Eventually impossible to justify.

The political theatre is seen for what it is. All respect gone.

In place of respect. Contempt.

How I long for integrity in leadership.

We must meet that longing. You and I. In all things. We must continue to hold ourselves and others accountable.

And never step over a Little Atrocity.

This is what we can do against the tsunami of the vile and violence. Small steps, yet significant.

PS. I hope I am wrong and peace prevails.
