Physics always trumps economics

We will do anything to deny this. To make the round peg fit in the square hole.

To cling to the luxury of overuse, overconsumption, lights always on, air-conditioning amped up.

It is not hot enough yet. The catastrophic weather events are not costing governments enough yet. Climate migration is still only a trickle.

Physics always trumps economics. Nature has its laws and boundaries. Economics is an unbounded game constructed with carelessness for anything except growth into infinity.

But no, let’s squeeze the last vestiges of profit and power before collapse.

I wonder, in the future, if those who gained the most in financial, political and economic gain will be held to account for the horror they are inflicting on the majority, on Earth, on our creatures?
