Is a phase state change probable?

The chicken is developed in the yoke of the egg. The white is its source of nutrients as it develops.
Clearly, there is a limit to the number of nutrients available to the developing chicken. Just as there is with the human child developing in its mother’s womb. The child does not become a rapacious parasite, consuming everything, including the mother, in its quest for life.
At some point, there is a phase state change.
Birth is necessary for the survival of the chicken, the child and the mother.
The phase state change is unpredictable in its exact timing, completely irreversible — no going back, and utilises a completely different process than has previously been experienced.
Our home planet is bounded. Limited resources. Yet currently endless growth.
Perhaps it is the unpredictable phase state change that we cannot see or calculate that will tip life into another form of existence.
It will be messy. Perhaps terrifying. Definitely very different.
If this phase state change is probable, that does not mean we sit back and let the destruction happen around us.
Birth requires active participation. Life wills us forward.
