Invisible untruths

We live in an increasingly invisible world. A world of bits not atoms. A world where our eyes and being are not present to events live.

In this world we can create any type of truth. AI will duplicate our voice exactly. Our faces and bodies can be digitally implanted into events in which we were not present.

Stories are made up and spread, backed by volumes of AI gathered data that make the case so strong it is easy to be hoodwinked.

Integrity is the essence of everything.

How do we discern integrity against the odds and technology that is far smarter than we are?

How do we know anything at all?

We might begin by not knowing with absolute conviction anything that we do not have a direct experience of. Even then, do we dare to consider our direct experience from multiple perspectives?

Think of how we now look at penalties in sports, with multiple camera angles. Knowing where the referee is on the field does not provide them with the ability to see the whole.

How do we practise seeing the whole?

These are questions of immense import in a world fractured by invisible untruths.
