Integrity all the way up, down and through
The world I want to see is one where integrity is the common experience.
If an enterprise says it will do this — this is done.
If a leader says they will do this — it is done.
When I say I will do this — I do it.
If circumstances get in the way, then the reason it is not done is explained in clear language, so those the promise was made to, understand why and a new promise is made. Not a justification. Not an excuse. Simple fact of circumstance.
Integrity all the way up, down and through. No smoke and mirrors. No manipulation. No corruption. Treat people with respect.
The trust we have in our institutions and leadership is eroded to zero because promises made are rarely kept. The promise of customer service, caring for the customer, a deep and abiding respect for all stakeholders — also called reverence — the promise of the product — these promises are delivered. This is what we long for.
In order for this type of integrity to occur consistently, the incentives behind why we do what we do need to be aligned. If money and profit are the goals then declare it. Declare that you will sacrifice any promise to achieve these goals.
I would rather this, for it has more integrity, than the endless lies of claiming goodness and regenerative practices but only as window dressing.
So many of us are heartbroken by the failed promises of people and institutions. It can feel kind of hopeless.
There is hope. It lives in all of the tools and resources we offer in Syntropic World.
