How easy is it to impose our ego onto a project

One of the elements of a Syntropic Enterprise is that the steward of a Source Idea has as their prime role to maintain the Pattern Integrity of the Source Idea.

What does this mean?

Let me give you an example.

My partner and I have had a holiday project of building out the back of a VW Transporter to enable surfboards, bikes and the ability to sleep comfortably overnight.

The Source Idea, so simple, was to be sure that we could put the Mal (a very large surf board) up the centre aisle, plus have a bike or two be able to be in that same aisle. We wanted the completed job to look well done and cared for.

Tony asked me for decor colour preferences. ‘Ocean’ colours, I responded. I thought blues and aquas.

The search to find the right mattress began, and ended up with a drive to Ikea, where we found a mattress and cover that was an exact fit. Exact. A custom made one would have a been harder exercise.

We had four mattress cover choices. Two we eliminated immediately. In the end we chose the anthracite grey.

Then on to Bunnings (an Australian version of Home Depot). Marine carpet for the aisle was sort. Low and behold, there was a marine carpet pre-cut in the exact width of the aisle. Again a few colour options, but the one that matched the mattress cover was our choice. We also found a few cushions in Bunnings that has both the greys and the blues.

The assembled van looked like it had been made to match the van exterior and interior colour. It was perfect. Yet we did not set out to do perfect. We set out to honour the Source Idea and never wavered on that intention.

I could have easily insisted, as I have done in my past, on another colour for the carpet, or mattress cover. In this insistence making it harder for everyone…pushing the flow of the water uphill.

We went with the water flow…with what was so obvious, letting go of my ego in the process…to have it look my way, rather than the way it was to look.

The exact dimension of the carpet was hard to argue with.

Consider though how often you might have argued with the exact dimensions equivalent?

While this example might seem small, even trite, against building an enterprise towards a world with a future that honours Earth and all of her creatures, the principles apply to any Source Idea, large or small.

Know and honour the Source Idea’s Pattern Integrity.

Atune to the Source Idea and what it needs and wants as you would atune to a child or animal.

Work with the abundance in the immediate field of existence. Including that which you may not even see, so obvious it is.

Take the first step. Repeat.
