Held to account

--

If we do not hold ourselves to account, who will?

If our team does not hold us to account — to the promises we have made — who will?

What happens next if we get away with shitty behaviour repeatedly? More shitty behaviour?

It is hard to hold ourselves to account. It is that extra oomph that integrity requires.

It feels icky when we let others down, and they hold us to account. But we are better for it.

If we want to live in a world of respect and trust, we creature cultures that hold us to account for the promises we have made.

Ideally, being held to account starts young, and becomes a habit.
