Far from perfect

Am I.

I can be cruel with words. I can certainly be a blunt instrument in my feedback.

I am not good with fluff. A direct path is my preference rather than a circular route of niceties.

I would rather people be direct and real with me than circumspect. I would certainly prefer to know where I stand than to have people play nice as they sharpen the blade.

I have always wanted to know the truth than be held in delusion.

I have a quick temper and little tolerance for lying, obfuscation and blame.

While these imperfections are very real, they are ones I know about. I am learning to work with them rather than have them work me.

It is those perspectives, actions, behaviours and habits that I am unaware of that interest me.

I cannot change what I do not know.

Friendship for me is to care enough about another to point out blind spots.

Not to tear down, but to enable choice.
