Complex to simple

Complex work is hard to explain. Just as innovative ideas struggle to find descriptors. Imagine trying to explain what google does ten years before most people were online.

The impulse is to attempt to describe the complex through reduction.

When we do this we fragment the Pattern Integrity of the idea.

There is a discipline in holding the confusion until you can reach words and descriptors that live on the other side of complexity, able to embody the full Pattern Integrity of the idea or enterprise.

In the days before this, those who love the new, who thrive on the edges, will find you and jump right in.

Resist the impulse to reduce. Hold your nerve. When the time is right, the descriptors will be there. And the world will catch up.
